Court grants 72M cash bail to 36 FDC Kisumum suspects.

The International Criminal Court Judge, Hon. Lady Justice Susan Okalany has on Thursday afternoon granted bail to the 36 FDC leaders who were in July arrested, deported from Kisumu Kenya.

Bailed suspects have been on remand for over three Months have been on Thursday afternoon bailed on stringent terms including; 2m cash bail to each accused, 50m none cash to each of the sureties, to report to the court registrar once a month, depositing of all their travel documents.

The judges also ordered the state to submit the suspects’ passports and Identification to court, bares them (accused) from traveling outside Uganda without court’s permission.

Justice Okalany warned that failure for the prosecution to commit the accused to High Court in six months from today, will mean an automatic dismissal and setting free the accused.

The 36 are facing terrorism charges.  State was represented by Richard Birivumbuka and bail applicants’ legal team was led by Elias Lukwago, the Lord Mayor of Kampala, Kato Tumusiime. Wanda Samuel, Kunihira Scovia, among others.

hey include 33 men, namely Ronald Muhinda (Besigye’s Personal Assistant), Makokha Samuel, Rutarorndwa Simon, Dr. Okello George Ekwaro, Nkonge Charles, Kawanguzi Paul, Nasur Din Basalirwa, Waiswa Latif Maido, Bukenya Charles Lwanga, Kitamirike Mbago Buyinza, Kasera John Mangeni, Bukenya Hakim, Olinga Sozi Peter, Obang Walter, Cankara Moses Mwaka, Kaigo Yosia, Wanzige George, Museveni Innocent Rubarondesa, Nakibinge Eddward Wassajja, Mpungu Henry, Naguba Ronald Kasozi, Beinomugisha Adios Denmark, Tugabirwe Richard, Okelo Sirino, Ahimbisibwe Owen, Nsubuga Simon Peter, Wakabi Adam, Kimonge Conold, Buyondo Henry, Ngobi Fairuzi, Owamani Robert, Kugumisiriza Arthur and Owachigiu Dennis Nono.

The 3 women include Lalam Florence, Nalunkuuma Grace, and Apare Sarah.
