Led by the State Minister for ICT Joyce Nabbosa Ssebugwawo Wednesday evening at State House Entebbe, the Buganda Kingdom Clan heads met with president Yoweri Kaguta Museveni over several kingdom itching issues.

Yesterday’s interaction was a follow up of the October 2023 meeting where he donated 9bn Shs to acquire 2.2 acres of land.

In the meeting, President Museveni promised to offer over 160m shs as transfer title fee of the bought land on addition to 1.2bn to inject in their SAACO.

“I am going to inject over 200m shilling in your SACCO in addition to the 160m shilling Title transfer” Museveni said.

Museveni also welcomed the clan leaders’ proposal allowing UPDF engineering brigade to take up the construction projects of the kingdom.

“I am very happy that you have now brought the idea of using the UPDF engineering brigade so that we can do it cheaply and am to tell my controller to see how we can do it individually in your areas and become model”

Museveni further revealed how he struggled from 1966 to change the difficult Balaalos mindset from being nomadic to starting modern farming and this was done by personal participation in Rwakitura through playing an exemplary role.

Museveni also emphasized the need to promote unity and NRM wealth creation message to the kingdom subject.

The meeting comes at a time when the kingdom is at crossroads over the increasing loud voices demanding for the whereabouts of King Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II.

Much as Baganda and King loving subjects wanted to hear something in regards to the King’s health status out of the meeting, according to the Presidential Press Unit (PPU) released statements and information/records, nothing of the sort is availed.
