Mawokota South MP, and Forum for Democratic Change – FDC, Chief whip, Hon. Yusufu Nsibamba has on Wednesday morning at the NRM Kyadondo Road offices asked for a deployment by the National Resistance Movement – NRM after abandoning his party and opposition, few weeks after meeting president Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.
Upon his unveiling by the speaker of Ugandan Parliemnent, Hon. Anita Among at the Kyadondo Road NRM party headquarters, Nsibambi informed NRM leaders, that after realizing that opposition has lost focus and has no clear agenda, he decided to join the ruling party to better the socio-economic political situations of Ugandans.

“Apart from sloganeering,opposition has lost direction, so I am here as a new comer with the zeal and strength to work for the NRM in whatever capacity, to ensure that at least our country and our people have the smiles their faces” Nsibambi has said.
He has further promised to surrender back his FDC party card and promised that after healing from election bruises he will return at an appropriate time to the secretary general for a wider discussion.
“I have moved with my FDC card, when I leave here, i want to go and return it back then return to NRM Secretary General at an appropriate time, my face has some of the bruises having gone through these elections in a misdirected way, when I clean up and see that it is now clear, I’ll return” Nsibambi has further assured the NRM Secretariat.
While addressing the media and some party leaders present, Hon. Anitah, has said that whenever you see people continue coming, just know that there are good things.
“Hon. Richard Tadwong, I have brought you results, and in our culture, a home that has visitors all the time is a successful home and it is a good home when you have visitors. If you have something good in a home, that is when people to to that home” Hon. Anitah has said.
“I have officially today February 18, 2026 brought Hon. Nsimbabi here this morning, to join NRM as a party. He said, he had never known what NRM had done, but ever-since he joined parliament, he has seen what the NRM government has done and has decided to join the government to be part of the transformers of Ugandans” Hon. Anitah has added.
