High in Kampala has Friday evening ordered the National Resistance Movement, NRM party to withdraw the parliamentary ticket it had given to Waiswa Joel Azalwa to the incumbent Paul Akamba, over illegalities and irregularities.
In a 19-page ruling by Hon. Justice Collins Accelam cited procedural improprieties, illegalaties, irrationalities, and breach of the natural justice principle while determing and declaring Azalwa as the party flag bearer for Busiki county MP constituency, Namutumba district in the forthcoming elections.
The court also discovered that there was unfairness exhibited when the tribunal made a re-tally in the absence of Akamba, and yet, one of the reasons why he had petitioned, was the failure of the District returning officer, to conduct a transparent tallying and hence, the tribunal’s decision being null and void.
After finding substantiality in Akamba’s application, the court has also ordered without costs, that the applicant be granted his flag as a dully elected party candidate.

Judge has also ordered, that without any excuse, Akamba, as the dully elected candidate be cleared as soon as possible, to held him prepare for the nominations next week.
It should be recalled that on August 19, 2025, the NRM tribunal declared Waiswa Joel Azalwa against the incumbent Paul Akamba after a violent and controversial party primary in Namutumba district.
