The three detained legislators include; Cissy Namujju (Woman MP Lwengo District), Akamba Paul (MP Busiki County) and Mutembuli Yousuf (Bunyole East).
Their arrest resulted to a search of their respective homes in the force’s pursuit to gather more evidences. This comes in a time when the country is awash by rampant corruption allegations and scandals to the extent of a section of MPs seeks to censure some parliament commissioners.
Sources say, that, the summoned parliament staffs whose personal accounts have been transacting billions of shillings as conduits for corporate social responsibility activities given up to the end of this June to account to the last penny of the funds.
It has also been revealed that the ongoing investigations and subsequent summons are a result of President Museveni’s state of the nation address last week where he claimed having irrefutable evidence against Parliament and Finance ministry staffs whom he alleged are behind a racket to influence Budget Processes and manipulation.
